Jabez - the Inspiration behind J's Landing
J's Landing is named after and developed around a very special miniature horse named Jabez.
On July 4th, 2014 we landed at a big red barn with a little white horse. Our goal is to use the boarding income from the barn to support a pet-assisted therapy program for special needs children.
Jabez was born in March 2001 at a facility in Coconut Creek. The first 10 years of his life were spent bringing joy to special needs children by simply being his beautiful, sweet, gentle self. Allowing children of all ages the opportunity to read to him, groom him, pet, hug and kiss him, take him for walks, dress him up for holidays and pose with him for pictures have all been a part of the joy we've experienced in sharing this wonderful gift of a little horse with others.
Jabez and Sharon were certified as a Pet Therapy Team in March 2014, and have had the privilege of working with children and adults in various therapy sessions. By sharing J's story and pictures, it is our hope that J's Landing will become a thriving setting for pet-assisted therapy and a quality-care horse boarding facility.
